Here's what I know. My great-great grandfather MAY have been named Luke (unreliable information from a now deceased aunt). The name of my great-grandfather was Philip Durkan. He married a Catherine Durkan (and I think that actually may have been her maiden name, as well as her married name) in Kilmacteige, County Sligo, in February 1849. Their children included my grandfather, Michael, and his siblings, Atty, Bridget, Winifred, and Luke. Atty remained in Ireland. Bridget and Luke came to Massachusetts but had no descendants. Winifred had descendants, but I do not know them. I don't think they live in Massachusetts. There are many family stories about Durkins marrying Durkins--which seems to have been easy to do in Sligo! In fact, I have some notes about a James Durkin, who immigrated to Brwester, NY, a Martin Durkin, an Anthony Durkin, a Jack Durkin, and an Edward Durkin. These must have been Michael's cousins. I don't know anything about them--just their names. I didn't have a chance to ask my aunt for clarification. Understandably, this e-mail is probably of no use to you--but it's always nice to know that someone is reading your posts!
