Mary may have had a twin brother. Known siblings were Patrick, born circa 1821-26 and Matthew, born 1838. All three were settled in the Easington Lane area of Durham by the 1850s. Mary married widower James Kays, also Irish. Their children were Michael, b 1855, Margaret 1859 and Mary Ann 1860. Patrick married in Ireland and had John born 1841 and Margaret 1845. He remarried in 1857, Durham to Mary Dyer. Children Matthew, 1858, Bridget 1860, Janes 1862, William 1863, Ann 1864, Sarah 1867. Matthew married Bridget Freeman/ Seery in 1871: children Mary Ann 1874, Ellen J 1876, Matthew 1878, Bridget 1880. Names associated with the family - sponsors at baptisms etc include Hart, Hogan, Daly, all with Sligo connections.
