    2. Some of the MULDERIGs changed their surname to REDDINGTON. My grands were Ellen Mulderig from Altbaun, Bohola parish, Co Mayo and Michael Clarke of Garryroe, Kiltimagh, CO Mayo. His mother was Ellen DURKIN but I don't know her place of origin. 1. my probable Durkin family Pitt PA
    2. Pat Jones
    3. My name is Pat Jones. I was not raised with contact of my bio father or his family. As a young adult my daughter asked if I would dig into the family medical history. I only had found out recently (at that time) that my bio dad had died 1993. I am fortunate, my birth name is very uncommon. I knew that I needed to find his family members to find any info. So with the assistance of my mother I began in the Pitt PA area that I knew my David Gethen was b. and raised. His b/c and his ss# state his mother was Mary Agnes Reilly. I had talked to two siblings and one had told me that Reilly was the name of her first husband and she was in reality a Durkin. I pulled the 1910 Pitt PA census for John & Mary Gethen of this area. It does state that Mary was indeed German not Ire. So the likelyhood of her being a Durkin was very strong. I found one Mary Durkin b. in Pitt abt the time of my Mary. According the 1910 Pitt PA census Mary and John Gethen were married abt 1903 (7 yrs). Mary had 3 births with one living. I don't know if the first would have been with a Mr. Reilly or not. I am hoping to get their marriage records to see what I am able to find. My bio family is not all that into family history and I have now surpassed their knowledge and given them more than they know. Mary was Cath at least after marriage since the family is very devout. I am told she is buried with her husband John Gethen at North Side Cath Cemetery, although the cemetery has not record of her in that grave with him. Their son John (also buried there now) is the one who gave me this info and since his hits have panned out so far I will follow his info. So anyone knowing of a Mary Agnes Durkin. b. abt 1884 according to calculations from the 1910 Pitt PA census I would dearly love to find info on this line. I have had such terrible fortune in trying to find any info on my bio father's lines. I get a little bit a year, enough to keep me hanging in there. ------pat jones--------

    3. Hi Kathy, Yes, they came from Maugheraboy, Killasser, Swinford, County Mayo, Ireland. The father of the family was Thomas Durkin (sometimes spelled Durcan and Durkane on old records). Thomas died on June 19, 1870 and his death is recorded on Foxford Civil Death registry. The brothers, John Thomas and Michael J. married two sisters, Alice and Mary T. Rowan. Sometimes Rowan is spelled as Ruane. Michael and Mary lived in England and apparently were the first of the family to come to the USA. I hope this is helpful and you may know more.
