His name was Martin Patrick Durkin and married Anne Helen McNichols. I believe he was born in Chicago in 1894 and died in the 1950's. I recall Durkin's there with all of the names you mentioned, but I can't remember their relationship, I was just 12 years old when we moved away. I'm not sure of his siblings, but I do remember he had cousins in Chicago named James and Bernard. Bernard (Bernie) was married to Rose and had nine children and lived on the south side of the city. Rose was the family historian but passed away a few years ago.

It's not too far from Castlebar, but not the same place either. My Anthony Durkin was one of 8 children. Only he and his sister Catherine went to England. The others came to the US. Did your Anthony have any siblings? We think either Anthony's or his sister's family may have been in the plumbing business. Does any of this sound familiar?

Also there were her brothers Patrick b c 1821 and Matthew b 1838. I think they were probably from the Sligo/Mayo borders. I have noticed the family of an Anthony Durkin in Durham city amd have some information about them - I will have to look up my notes which may take a couple of days, so bear with me and I will report back when I can. Interested in Durkin from Sligo. I know the names mentioned have Durkins Looking for Michael and Bernedette who had sons Martin and Michael who came to Canada and siblings of Michael and Bernedette are Edward and Honora Durkin who had son James who came to Canada in 1840 with Michael. Martin came in 1834 ( my relative). Grand children of Martin were Kathleen and Charles Anthony born in 1894 canada. Dear Kathy Wood: My grandfather, Michael Durkin, was an Irish immigrant from Sligo. He was the son and last child of Philip and Catherine Durcan, who were married on February 8, 1849, in Kilmacteige, Sligo. In the records of the Church of latter Day Saints, I found the birth entries for all Michael's borthers and sisters except for Michael! The brothers and sisters were Luke (born 1860), Pat (borth 1850) Bridget (born 1858), Atty (both 1857, and Winnifred (not birth date). [I'm sorry these are in the wrong order.] According to oral history, Luke came to the U.S., but he did not marry and had no descendants. Winnifred and Bridget came to the Salem/Peabody, Massachusetts area. I'm unclear about Pat and Atty. I think Atty stayed in Ireland. Michael married Bridget (Delia) Marrin (or Marren) on October 12, 1898. One of their children, Philip, was my father. I doubt that this information will be helpful, but I'm sending it just in case.
