Hi Does anyone know what the nickname of Missie actually stood for or was it a name in its own right? I have an ancestor from Durham who was known as "Missie" Johnson (I am told she died in a house fire in Fairy St, Hetton-le-Hole, about age 98). But I am unable to do any more research on her until I know what her "proper" name was.
