Dear Dawn, many thanks for your help but as far as I know Lanchester is a separate parish to Medomsley and these 2 George christenings are listed as in the Medomsley parish on the web records via Genuki and are to 2 separate sets of parents so are clearly 2 different people. Again from Genuki Lanchester parish records start in 1560 and Medomsley start in 1608 well before the dates I am looking at. It is so difficult isn't it to separate who is who from such bare information. I know this is problem everyone has but it doesn't stop you hoping you will find some way of separating people. Clearly I shall have to try and get up to Durham but unfortunately it is unlikely to be for some considerable time.
