    3. Thank you very much , Jenny, Carol and Tim. Since my GGgrandmother, Mary Ann JOHNSON kept Joseph, Thomas, Hannah , Elizabeth and Eleanor amongst their children's names in Wallsend , I guess this is the correct family . BTW Eleanor got married to George Johnson in Gateshead in 1816 and although the rest of their children were born & christened in Wallsend my GGgrandmother was born in Newbottle which cost me a great deal of lost time and energy searching for her family there . You just never know where these babies pop up :-) I've used Hugh Wallis' batch nos. for years , Tim. They're great:-) Ancestry was doing maintenance so I was on and off for the last few days. Cheers, Dorothy

    3. Sorry Dorothy, I have just spotted an error in my earlier message. The marriage of Joseph Atkinson to Hannah Hills that I found on the IGI took place in 1782 and not 1792 as I wrongly typed in my message. Remember too that Hugh Wallis's site has not been updated very much and the IGI at the familysearch site has many more batch numbers on it now that Hugh has included in his site. I agree Hugh's site is very useful but do remember to check the familysearch site if you don't find the name of the parish that you are interested in on Hugh's listings. Make a place search of the Family History Library catalogue, at the familysearch site, for the placename that interests you and then look for the catergory Church Record Indexes. You should then look for a heading Computer Printout etc., etc., and if you find such a heading the link from it will show you the batch numbers allocated to that parish. Regards Jenny DeAngelis Spain. <<Since my GGgrandmother, Mary Ann JOHNSON kept Joseph, Thomas, Hannah , Elizabeth and Eleanor amongst their children's names in Wallsend , I guess this is the correct family .
