    3. A good move might be to join the Northumberland and Durham Family History Society. http://www.ndfhs.org.uk/ You may then use the postal library to borrow transcriptions of some of the parish records. The Postal Library Catalogue is for the use of members of the NDFHS who live out of the area and are unable to visit the Library and Research Centre at Bolbec Hall. The Catalogue has lists of Parish Register Indexes and Non-conformist Registers in Northumberland and Durham together with Monumental Inscriptions and lists of 'Strays'. Also included are Miscellaneous items and Booklets. All may be borrowed for the cost of the postage. The Catalogue is priced at £1.50 *, post free and requests should be sent to the Postal Librarian at Bolbec Hall. For instance, I have borrowed some of the St Hilda's records - but not found many of 'my' family!
