    3. Thanks Linda - Just pulled up the page. This Mary must be my 2xGreat Grandmother Mary Liddle (nee Logg). I cannot find her in 1881 - She should be with her husband Robert but no luck at all there. ** Could this be her Class: RG11; Piece: 5006; Folio: 145; Page: 63; 21yo Servant to the DARLING Family in 19 Whitburn St, Sunderland Her husband I guess may have been off on a ship somewhere. ** Class: RG11; Piece: 5078; Folio: 184; Page: -8 24yo Fireman on the SS Commodore - listed as married. I can't even find a marriage but I did find this one below and am now beginning to think it the right one with all the other surname transcription errors everywhere else. 15/1/1877 - Parish Church Saint Mary, South Shields Robert LIDDLE 22 Bach Mariner Lord Nelson St Robert Liddle - Mariner Mary LONG 19 Spster South Shields Patrick Long - Porter Signed by Robert Liddle with the mark of Mary Long X Witnessed by X mark of Richard Wells and signed by (unknown) Wells -----Original Message----- "1871 census, RG10/ 5037, South Shields, Kirbys Stairs (Indexed as 'TONG') Catherine TONG (LOGG?) h, wid, 30, Hawker b Scotland Mary " d, unmarr, 12, Hawker b Scotland .... 3. Jacquie, Did you get an e.mail from me in the past couple of days? I have been having problems with getting messages through to the list and am not sure whether those same messages are getting through to the intended subscriber too. I found proof, I think, that Catherine Logg could in no way be the mother of John Mercer shown in the census entry from 1891 that you found. If you would like to see the message that I intended sending please let me know and I will try re-sending it to you. Apologies to other listers for posting this to the list but I am trying to sort out the intermittent trouble I am having with Rootsweb, but no one seems to be able to sort it out. Regards Jenny DeAngelis Spain.
