It will be because the page containing the surname of the other person/s, other female, that appear in that same Quarter of the year has not yet been transcribed by FreeBMD, FreeBMD is still an ongoing process. When you find the name of one partner to a marriage on Free BMD but not the other name that you expect to find, scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see the phrase, Found one partner in a marriage and now looking for the spouse, the link is below this phrase and will explain why this is. Alternatively you can search the GRO index free of charge at the Ancestry site, no need to be a subscriber to Ancestry to use this index. www.ancestry.co.uk You will see that there is not only the link to the images of the GRO index but lower down the page a link to the FreeBMD transcript too. What can be or should be interpreted when an entry on the "Freebmd" website for a given date (Sept 1862) lists 3 individuals, two females & one male; an odd *man* out scenario. In this case, it's the extra female named that makes the odd number. There must be a simple explanation for this but I have yet to figure it out.
