It might be worth checking Banns for Chester le Street if you think that John lived there at the time of the marriage. They should give the bride's Parish, which is probably where they married. I'd also re-check that entry where Newton Aycliff was given as birthplace. It didn't exist in those days, only Aycliffe or the Parish of Great Aycliffe.
