Hi Sandy, I've never heard of a St Paul's Church in the Hendon area of Sunderland, but there is a St Paul's Church at Ryhope, about a mile from the Hendon area (it's where I was baptised!). > The old map of Hendon is from 1861-62. As for Fowler Terrace, it no longer exists and in it's place is Lewis Crescent. > What colliery was there at that time and where was that? Hendon, to my knowledge, never had a coal mine/colliery.
