Dear all, Can anyone tell me where WAPPING and/or WHELP LETCH are/were in 1780. I 'think' they might be near either Houghton-le-Spring or Chester-le-Street where a branch of my ERRINGTON's moved to, originating in Hexhamshire. They were Richard (1747), Mary (1750), Charles (1753), Ann (1757), Elizabeth (1760) and Jane (1766) ERRINGTON. A John ERRINGTON had been baptised in Hexham in 1756, but does not appear in a list of his brothers and sisters receiving legacies in 1780, from the will of Elizabeth ARMSTRONG of Hexham. Their father and mother were Richard ERRINGTON and Margaret WILLSON who married 3 January 1743/44 in Hexham. After Richard ERRINGTON's death in 1767 (buried Houghton le Spring?), Margaret ERRINGTON re-married to Robert RUTTER on 25 December 1769, Sunderland (but not sure which church). I think that Margaret RUTTER had died before 25 August 1781. Thank you for any help. Regards, Yvonne
