Just to add that between 1797 and 1845 there were several rates which were 1%, 2%, 2.5%, 3%, 4%, 5%, 6%, 8%, and 10%. I don't know to which years they applied, but the main categories were 1%, 3%, and 10%. Regards Stan Mapstone
