We are missing Nathaniel Birkett MAIN in the 1891 Census. Any suggestions on how to find him? We have done extensive search using the indexes on ancestry.co.uk to no avail .. Despite searching known mis-transcriptions and for any Nathaniel born Gateshead His wife is alive and listed as married in the 1891 Census at 11 Seymour Terrace RG 12/4172 F6 P 6 He is with her in both the 1881 Census in Bewick Road and 1901 Census at 22 Taylor Terrace. He was born in Gateshead in 1844 and lives in Gateshead all his life. Up to 1881 he was a 'coal agent' and in 1901 an Ironmongers Clerk. Robin Ps we are doing a search for all MAIN descendants of William MAIN (or MEIN) and Margaret HEWITT who came from Scotland to Tyneside about 1830.
