Dear Members, I have just joined this website. It looks like a very active one. I am looking for CARMICHAEL`S. My grandf.was William, b. in Gateshead, Heworth,Co. Durham, Dec.1861. He came to USA abt.1878. His father.Wm. was b.1813 in Wooler, NBL Co. and his father John was b.about1790 in Wooler.John married Jane JOHNSON in 1812 in Ancroft, NBL.She was from Berwick.I am looking for John`s record of birth and his parent`s names. Their names would be Wm. and Catherine if they followed the Eng. custom when they named the children, but I don`t know if they did. I would appreciate any help offered. Betty of USA
