Hello Listers Last week I listed my ROBERTSON & SIMM/SIMMS family interests in South Shields but received not one reply, which is strange considering the number of Robertson family descendants with origins in South Shields. I will now try to seek out others who may be researching my WATSON and RENNISON/ RENOLDSON family interests from South Shields. Joseph WATSON bn c. 1795 Married Isabella BRADFORD at Heworth Parish, Jarrow, Durham, England on 29 Jul 1810 Children: Isabella (1813-dec.) , Joseph (c. 1816-dec.) Robert Jobson (c. 1818-1882) (my 2x G.Grandfather) , James (c. 1822-dec.) Jane (c. 1828-dec.). Family stories, of what could be Joseph's father or uncle, tell of this ancestor having been press-ganged into service at sea during the Napoleonic Wars. During service he contracted T.B. and other ailments to the extent he was discharged unfit for service. He retuned home and when his wife answered the his door knock she didn't even recognise him at first rejecting him as a beggar. I have no record of Joseph's parents or earlier ancestors. Note: The RENOLDSON family have various spelling versions of their name. In Shilbottle, originally named RENOLDSON, then in Lesbury RENNISON / and in South Shields RENNOLDSON / RANDLESON. The patriarch of this family was Thomas RENOLDSON who m. ANN BROWN at Shilbottle on 20 Jun 1699os. Ephraim RENNISON bn. Shilbottle, 30 Aug 1747os, Father: John RENOLDSON Mother: Isabella MATTISON married Phillis WYNDHAM at Lesbury, 01 Jul 1773. Buried St Hilda's 23 Oct 1785 Children: Margaret FARRADAY (1774-dec.) John (1775-1775) Isabel (1777-dec.) Barbara (1779-dec.) Phillis (c. 1781-1785) Windham (c. 1783-1824) (my 3xg.g) who married Mary Lesley and whose dau. Barbara m.
