RG78 is the 1911 Census Enumerator's Summary Books. The 1911 census returns comprise two sets of documents, the bound volumes of the householder's schedules and an associated series of Enumerator's Summary Books (ESBs). Each ESB has a corresponding set of schedules. The link between them is a unique three-part reference number; Registration District Number Registration sub-District number Enumeration District Number. The ESBs contain all the information that was contained in the first section of the enumerators book in earlier censuses, such as a description of the Enumeration District etc. Stan Mapstone
