There are two marriage register books, one is kept with the church records and the duplicate is returned to the Superintendent Registrar when full. If you order a certified copy from the local Register Office then it is taken from this register. If you get one from the GRO then it is taken from the quarterly return which is a certified copy of the one at the church. Stan Mapstone
