Thanks to Jan for info. that Northumberland was about to go on line. I've found 5 households this morning but have drawn several blanks. Most notable is Emmeline Henderson born in Sunderland in 1855. I can find no trace of her even though I know she did not die until 1951. I've tried dropping an M, trying Emmy, dropping her dob but still drawing a blank. Can anyone suggest how I may find her? best wishes, Mary

It's worth noting that if you use the advanced fields search there are various options for first and surnames if there is some doubt about spelling. You can, for example, tick a box to search for names starting with something, so using this with emm would bring up several alternatives: emmy, emmeline, emmaline etc. There's also a place to enter names of others likely to be in the household to help narrow the search.
