    3. Dear Listers, 1911 does not seem to be my year! I failed to find a great uncle Robert Allan but as Kelly's Dirctory of 1914 shows him at 18, Belle View Road, Sunderland I then tried a place search. The only Belle View it brings up is in Ryton, Gateshead. Can it be that Belle View Road wasn't built in 1911 or is there some other explanation? Best wishes, Mary

Mary, try the following search: Address: belle* [note the asterisk for wildcard search] County: Durham District: Sunderland I got 72 hits, including addresses in Belle Vue Road, Sunderland [note Vue not View].
