Would anyone be willing to look up an entry in the Brancepeth Church register? Thomas was baptised 23/10/1763, the son of Jane Jopling. I have assumed that he was illegitimate, but it occurred to me that Jane could have been a widow. Does it say anything in the original entry to suggest which is true? I would be most grateful to have the answer & know for sure, even though, if he was illegitimate, it would mean that I am not a "Jopling" after all! The year 1763 is worked out from his age at death & when he married he was `of Brancepeth`- which does not necessarily mean he was born there. There was a baptism on 06/03/1763 at Kirk Merrington- all I have there is that he was son of John Jopling. Ruth in Perth Australia.
