In my ancestors I have two families in boat building ,I don't think they were very big , more likely made cobles or small boats They were Henry Sotrine (many spellings to this name Southry, Southroy and so on ) Henry was born in Fecamp in Normandy On his marriage he is down as a boat builder ,also on his children's birth certificates, Address on marriage Low Street Sunderland ,year was 1848 On his death in 1896 ,his daughter put down ` Master boat builder ` If any one can help as to where this boat building would have been . Next one in family is John Wilson he also a boat builder (again perhaps cobles or such ) perhaps Hendon or East End of Sunderland ,around 1840 Many thanks if anyone can point me in a direction of where to look .
