Good thought but only the Scott and Taylor names coincide with the names of the settlers. There are only one or two of those listed in the Vanneck family tree - and no one with the name Vanneck came here. Names associated with the community were Telfer, Robson, Ord, Baty/Batie, Charlton, Calvert, Caverhill, Scott.
