    3. Hello, Our area was settled by folks from Northumberland and Cumberland in the 1820s. The local community was called Vanneck. All that remains of that hamlet is Vanneck Church. I have been unable to find the origin of the name, Vanneck. Often the early settlers named a community for a place - village, property name - in their homeland. I was wondering if anyone on the list has any idea from where the name Vanneck came. Sincerely, Carol Small Ontario, Canada
