    3. Hi all I was after someone else's opinion if I am on the right track here. Sorry for the length of the post. I have John HARRISON and Elizabeth WHITFIELD who are my gr=gr=grandparents who married in 1813 in Stanhope Durham. Their 1^st child was Whitfield HARRISON christened 16 Jan 1814 at St. Johns Chapel. Now in the 1841 Census I have this entry. 1841 Census, HO 107, Piece 308, District 2, Fol 26, Page 22 Park (Quarter) Parish of Stanhope, White Hall, Whitfield HARRISON, 20, Lead Miner, Yes (b Durham) Hannah HARRISON, 20,Yes Mary HARRISON, 1, Yes I found a marriage for Whitfield HARRISON to Hannah HODGSON 3 Nov 1838 in St. Johns Chapel, Stanhope. Whitfield is living at High Kitty Crag, Father is listed as Whitfield though.Hannah's father is William HODGSON. Witnesses were William HODGSON and Hannah WHITFIELD. Whitfield states he is a bachelor. I subsequently found a death for Hannah HARRISON June Qtr Sunderland Registration District. Now on 11 Dec 1841 I have Whitfield HARRISON of Middle Black Dean, bachelor son of John HARRISON marrying Ann HILL, Spinster, of Capplespeth daughter of Thomas Race HILL. I then found this baptism. Location: St. John's Chapel, Weardale 20 Feb 1842 Whitfield HARRISON, of White Hall, son of Whitfield HARRISON (miner) by his wife Hannah Then in 1851 I have found 2 Whitfield Harrison's both in Stanhope. 1. Hill House, with Whitfield aged 33, Martha, wife aged 24, Mary, dau. 11, Whitfield, 9,George 6mths. 2. Grain.Whitfield HARRISON, aged 37, Ann wife 29, Thomas, 7, Elizabeth 6, John 4, Margaret 11 mths. Now even though in number 1, the wife is listed as Martha, the rest fits. In 1861 Census I have Whitfield Harrison, born about 1814 with wife Ann, and children, including Thomas 17, Elizabeth 16, John, 14, Margaret. Do I have 2 Whitfield Harrison's marrying here, or 1, and there is an error on the 1851 Census for the wife's name. Secondly, why, if it is the same Whitfield HARRISON marrying both Hannah HODGSON and Ann HILL why would he state he was a bachelor. Any thoughts please, I am total confused. I have now found thanks to the wonderful new Family Search Lab site, that Whitfield HARRISON and his wife Ann nee Ann Race HILL ended up in Missouri USA. Before chasing this family am I on the right track. Thanks for reading this long saga. A confused Joy Light .
