    3. Dear Wendel, LDS has filmed many of these wills and I have in the past obtained copies from the films. You say you are in Texas - probably an LDS centre near to you. Have a look at the LDS site https://www.familysearch.org/ go to "library catalogue" and in the search box select "titles" and then key in "wills and administrations, 1526-1858" this brings up a link to the wills for the Diocese of Durham. Click on it and it will expand to show you the relevant film numbers (there are 182 reels). I would think that John Melrose's will should be on either film 90970 (copy wills and admons 1838-1840) or 90971 (copy wills and admons 1840-1842) . Offhand I don't remember whether they are filed alphabetically or by date of probate. James Melrose may be on the same film or perhaps 90972 Hope this helps a bit.
