    3. Hello Wendell, I believe the records you are quoting are from the North East Inheritance project. Durham University Library hold the original records and the project is to make them freely available online. The searchable database is now online and the images of the actual documents are expected soon, in collaboration with the LDS. Here is the link to Durham's site http://familyrecords.dur.ac.uk/nei/ Contact details can be found on there. John MELROSE, saddler, innkeeper, of Felton in the parish of Felton in the county of Northumberland Date of death: 2 February 1840 Date of probate: 8 December 1840 will, 30 December 1839 (DPRI/1/1840/M9/1-2) registered copy of will, 30 December 1839 (DPRI/2/50 p285-286) James MELROSE, butcher, of Felton in the county of Northumberland. Date of death: 1 July 1841 Date of probate: 5 August 1843 will, 26 November 1839 (DPRI/1/1843/M8/1-2) registered copy of will, 26 November 1839 (DPRI/2/52 p280) The John MELROSE mentioned above is the father of my greatgrandfather, Hugh Hudson Melrose and the James MELROSE was one of his brothers. Thank you all for your replies.. On another note, I live near Houston, Texas in the United States so I am far away from any of the Northumberland Record Offices. Wendell H. Melrose
