Hi again Whilst what you say is largely true, its generally a matter of ease of ordering & payment Some local offices do not like supplying certificates and try to dissuade you suggesting you order from the GRO instead Local offices do not always take credit cards and now are often more expensive as the GRO's are post paid Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) One thing tho' - any certificate (or image of same) acquired from the GRO of England will be a transcription by the local registrar. If you HAVE to purchase a certificate, much better to go to the local register office and get a copy of the original! Ruth
