Hi all, I would appreciate some help, if possible. William ORD, was living at Walker Place, parish of Tynemouth when he died on 5 November 1832. His wife Elizabeth ORD survived him, but had died by 8 November 1833, when their nieces, Barbara and Elizabeth POOLE, applied to administer William ORD's will. I've looked through the Tynemouth parish church burials, without success. Please, does anyone have access to the Albion Road Cemetery records, North Shields or MIs who could check for their burials, or is there another burial ground which would cover Walker Place where I could check for them? Thank you in advance for any help. Kind regards, Yvonne Purdy
Hi Yvonne, Not sure if I have the correct couple but these burials are from Wallsend St Peter churchyard. 19.06.1830 ORD Elizabeth wife of William North Shields 75 08.11.1832 ORD William Walker Place, North Shields 76 Margaret Hall Wallsend www.margaret-hall-genealogy.com -----Original Message----- From: dur-nbl-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:dur-nbl-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of YvonnePurdy Sent: 05 April 2011 16:45 To: dur-nbl@rootsweb.com Subject: [DUR-NBL] William and Elizabeth ORD Hi all, I would appreciate some help, if possible. Hi Margaret, So very many thanks for your wonderful help, and so quickly too. I very much appreciate it. As ever in family history, the answer to one question raises another. My friend and I are researching this family. She always thought that Elizabeth Ord predeceased William Ord, as seems to be borne out by these records, yet when Barbara and Elizabeth Poole applied to administer William Ord's will, it specifically says: "Whereas William Ord formerly of Nether Ardley but late of Walker Place in the parish of Tynemouth in the County of Northumberland Gentleman deceased having whilst living, and at the Time of his death, Goods, Chattels, or Credits in divers Dioceses or Jurisdictions did make his will (hereunto annexed) and did therein name his wife Elizabeth Ord and his nieces Barbara Poole and Elizabeth Poole Spinsters Executrixes And whereas the said Elizabeth Ord survived the said Deceased but is since dead and the said Barbara Poole and Elizabeth Poole" etc. I don't know what to make of this situation. Does anyone have any suggestions? Kind regards, and again many thanks, Margaret.
