I am new to this list and am helping someone find their ancestors. Is there a place in either Northumberland or County Durham called Rollands Hill? Her grandfather gives this as his birthplace on his Marriage Registration in 1909 in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. Her grandfather was William STEWART, b. cr. 1888 and his parents were William STEWART b. cr. 1854 Durham, and Jane Grace Dixon, b. cr. 1857 Durham. Bridget - there is a place called Rowlands Gill which is in County Durham. It is about 4 miles south west of Blaydon on Tyne.
