Hello List, Do someone have access to Parish Records in Walker, Newcastle Upon Tyne Please. I would love to know if all of Andrew Campbell and Elizabeth Fergus children were Christened. Their children were born in Walker from 1862 until 1880 as far as I know. Also could someone please check to see if their was a Obitury notice for Andrew Campbell who died on 22 February 1862 at 1618, Walker Road, Walker, Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. I would like to know what the details were please, I have not been able to find out any information on his eldest daughter Mary Copeland Campbell who was born in walker about 1885. Jane MANNING alleges in several census returns that she was born in either Berwick upon Tweed or "Tweedpool" in c.1812. A search of what is available on the LDS Family Search websites, and Scotland's People, does not elicit her baptism. A prize of my deep gratitude to anyone who can shed some light on her origins. Heather if you ask the Gateshead Registrars office they probably take card payments but only by letter or phone call, I doubt they will have online payment facilities. I have found that most of the District Registrars offices that I have contacted do have such card payment facilities these days, phone call or letter only. But it does make it easier for those of us outside the UK to get copy certs. without having to buy money orders etc. Would it not be worth a letter to them with your card details, though it would take longer for you to receive your copy, you would be getting a copy of the original entry and not a copy of a copy from the GRO. Debbie One more item of interest for you on this couple It looks as though Thomas was married before and had a fairly large family. Not surprising given the ages of Thomas and Ann. There is a grave in Whickham Churchyard Reference C 109 In memory of Margaret HODGSHON wife of Thomas HODGSHON of Swalwell who died Feb 9 1841 aged 48 years. Mary Anna HODGSHON daughter of the above Thomas and Margaret HODGSHON died Sep 7 1831 aged 4 1/2 years George HODGSHON father of the above Thomas HODGSHON died Aug 31 1841 aged 78 years Elizaabeth wife of the above George HODGSHON died Jan 25 1844 aged 64 years Thomas HODGSHON of Swalwell died April 25 1867 aged 77 years George HDGSHON eldest son of the above died July 19 1890 aged 65 years and is buried at Elswick Cemetery, Newcastle Elizabeth daughter of the above Thomas HODGSHON died Jan 26 1896 in her 69th year RIP No reference to the second wife Ann. One more comment, Debbie the 1851 Census HO 107 2403 folio 128 page ? shows Thomas HODGSHON aged 61 and Ann aged 50 living at Swalwell.
