    1. [DUR-NBL] Naming Patterns, if any, 1600's?
    2. Linda Price
    3. All the information I have seen for naming patterns in the north of England, appear to start from 1700 and follow through to the late 1800's, but . . . . does anyone know what they may have been before this period, in the 1500 and 1600's. .? Thanks, Linda

    3. Hi Mae The Church was called All Saints (as was the parish). See http://www.genuki.bpears.org.uk/NBL/Newcastle/AllSaints/index.html for more info. And also http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.aspx?compid=43355 Here is a photo http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1110126 Images of the transcripts that used to be made each year of parish records to be sent to the Bishop (Bishop's Transcripts) are available for some years for All Saints here - http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html?datestamp=1204246582134#start Click on the map & follow the links. The Bishop's Transcripts have not been indexed so don't use the search function that comes up, just follow the links to Northumberland, then Newcastle, then All Saints. Good luck, Ingrid On 21/03/2009, at 11:45 AM, Mae Rusk wrote: > I'm hoping someone can help me by accessing church records. 3. Hi Boris, A little more. On family search site there's a Robert Bounton married Jane Briggs 10th December 1836 Chester-le-Street. You can also see the details on their pilot site as they have Chester-le-Street images on. It's image 787. Also found them as Bounton on the 1841 and 1851. It looks like the same family that are Bunting in later census. Best wishes, Gillian

    3. Hi Boris, Following on from John's message I realised I didn't read your email properly first time round. So here's a little more info. 1891 Blackett is in Shildon, a boarder, and listed as married. I haven't found Annie as yet on the 1891or a death for her on freebmd. 1871 Blackett is with his family in Shotton Colliery. 1861 they are in Helmington Row. What appears to be Blackett's birth registration is as follows:- Birth reg. June qtr.1853, ref. 10a. 195 Durham District Blackett Bounton. I also haven't found a marriage for Blackett's parents Robert and Jane as yet!! Let me know if you want any images. Best wishes, Gillian

    3. Neil, following on from Gillian's message I see on FreeBMD that Jane, Robert and George also had the middle name of Bunting - so it looks as though there was a long relationship. Have you found his wife Ann(ie)'s death? I notice that an infant Annie Maria (0) died in the same qtr in 1884 as Blackett and Annie were married. Shotgun? 3. Hi Boris, You don't say if you've found them on the 1901 but here they are in Shildon. Blackett Bunting, head widr. 47, born Coxhoe Sarah Holmes, housekeeper 33, born Shildon Annie I Holmes housekeeper's dau. 12 born Shildon Lily Holmes ditto 9 born Shildon Jane Holmes ditto 7 born Shildon Robert Holmes housekeeper's son 5 born Shildon Thomas Holmes ditto 3 born Shildon George Holmes ditto 4 months born Shildon 1891 Sarah Ann Holmes is a boarder with a family called Taylor and daughter Ann Isabella aged 2 born Shildon. Ann Isabella is also listed as a boarder but likely to be Sarah's daughter. 1881 Sarah is with her family parents being Thomas and Ann. It looks as though Sarah Ann was born Sarah Ann Holmes. On freebmd there's a birth reg. for Thomas Bunting Holmes in the March qtr.1898, Auckland District which takes in Shildon. Hope this helps. Gillian
