Mrs. Mary E. Daniels,aged 24,died yesterday morning at 10 at her home,1504 Tennessee Avenue,St.Elmo,after a long illness. The husband of the deceased,B.A. Daniels,lost his life on the ill-fated Lusitania. Mrs. Daniels is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. Dupre, of this city, and four brothers, R.C.,J .F. and L. W. Dupre, of Chattanooga, and W. D. Dupre ,of Clinton ,Ind., and one sister, Mrs. Lewell Kelly , of Atlanta. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2:30 from the residence, the Rev. Willie P. Gerhardt officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills cemetery. Note**** Couldn't tell if the spelling Gerhardt was Gernardt,hardt or nardt. The obituary published from the Chattanooga Times-January 20,1916-page-3. Obituary-didn't give birth or death dates. So,with the obituary stating death as yesterday, I guess that would probably mean her death date would be Jan.19,1916. What he passed on to me was the the Dupre name come from a region of France and roughly means, ' from the county'. He also said that in this region, if you moved into ' town ' , they would often change the name to Duprel ( meaning of the town ) . How true this all was??? Good Luck!

They arrived in Philadelphia around 1905/6 (I'm guessing, as their first child was born in 1907) and were married when they arrived. They had six children. Maxmillion was from Kolberg, Germany. They lived in Philadelphia PA, then Barrington NJ, then Trenton, NJ.
