Hello fellow researchers. Please allow me to introduce myself as the new Administrator for this mailing list. I have been researching the family for a number of years now and I do not profess to be its most knowledgeable researcher but will do all I can to see that you get what assistance is available. Rules for using the list are brief and simple. Please enjoy it, be courteous to others, help where you feel that you can, be patient with newcomers and above all please stay within the Rootsweb guidelines. IMPORTANT: Please, please, please, always post your requests with any OTHER surnames highlighted in capital [upper case] letters in the subject line as this makes it so much easier for readers to spot likely matches and actually read your message. Lets get the list going with a general 'where I am back to' in my research. Just email your earliest family member and see if others can help you get back further. My connection to Cantrelle was discovered when researching our family tree. My grandfather Dalton J. Bozonier's father was Henri Bozonier for apt. 1853 to Antoine and Octavie (Cantrelle), there were other siblings namely: Antione IV 1841, Edgard 185, Julia 1859 and one unnamed on census born 1848. My info was taken from census, birth and death records on Ancestry.com. The Bozonier family as stated so far was listed as White race. Then Henri had 7 children with Georgette Keller who we know was a woman of color. And so goes on to our family. Very interesting and colorful. I don't have any other info on the Cantrelles, we may be related since anything is possible. Pat James

Hello list, I just received new information in my "Depre" family. Not much, but here it is, and I hope it looks familiar to someone. Jacob Depre married Catherine Sendel - I have no dates or locations, although I know they lived in Germany at one time. Their children were: Jacob - no info Anton b. 1877 in Schonau (Pfalz) Germany, d 1961 - don't know location. Katharina b. 1880 in Schonau (Pfalz) Germany Marie b. 1882 in Schonau (Pfalz) Germany, d. 1976 in Titusville, Mercer Co., NJ - Marie married Maxmillian Strehlow from Kohlburg, Germany. Marie came to America in 1904 to Philadelphia. The story goes that she and Max met on the boat coming over and were married when they got here. But, all census records say Max came here in 1905, so that story does not fit (as many family stories go). I'm not sure I'm spelling Schonau correctly, could it be Sehonau? I know there were a few spellings of this surname. Depre, Depree, Dupre, etc. I've also been told Marie was from Allsace Lorraine, so they may have moved there. There are some records that state that Marie was born in Ruoison, Russia. Did borders change then? Any information or clues where to search for this family would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Under that it says Thomas Dupre born 1679 Sailed from France with Philip de ______(can't make it out) in 1699. And goes on for the full length of the page. I'm not sure but it may be my great-grandmother's handwriting. The preceding page has deaths listed for Norris Family. This bible says Presented to Augusta Norris by her mother June 15, 1855 I have a picture of Mary Elizabeth (Dupree) Parsons b.Sept. 12, 1825 on http://maidenusa.com/genealogy/dupree_1825.htm if you want to see it.
