    3. Just got a UK Will & in it John SIMONS leaves money to his children, one of whom, Martha Ann SIMONS, married John Duncombe -looks like - DUPRE sometime before 1835 when the Will was made. I know Martha was baptised in 1799 so I guess John is born about the same time. Both were said to live in AMERICA. Big place so don't know where to start looking. Does anyone have John in their tree? Can anyone help? Jenny AUS

Lucy Giguere was married to Charles Newell. He died in Woonsocket in 1911. She later remarried to Frederick Dupre. In 1930, they were living in Darmouth, Mass. Lucy and Charles' children were Nancy, Olive, Emma, Mary Jane, Arthur, Eva Irene, Henry Calice and Viola. The last two were born in Woonsocket. I would like to know where and when Lucy's and Charles parents died, i.e. Joseph Giguere and Sophie Tourville and Ambrose Newell Sr. and Rose Guay. The latter were still living in Douglas, Mass. in 1911 according to Charles Newell's obit in Woonsocket. Any info welcomed. Author: sgray62 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.dupre/101.1.1.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Sorry - I misread the part about Cora. Euclid married Angelina Marie Montville in Massachusetts on May 21, 1894. Her parents were: Henry Monteville and Louisa Buford. In 1900, they were living in Gardiner, MA and had the following children: Edmund J, Alice M, and Lucy A. Euclid's sister Leah and brother Joseph were also living with them. His 1917 Draft Card indicates that he was a merchant in Washington. The 1920 census does show a Cora A born about 1902. Hope this helps. On a side note, the Dupres moved around a bit -- they went back and forth between Canada and the US a couple of times - they spent time in NY, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Louisianna where Andre's brother lived. Author: sgray62 Surnames: Dupre, Montville, Poirier, Gallagher, Thibeault Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.dupre/101.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Yes, Rosalie's maiden name was Poirier and Angelina's maiden name was Montville. It is definitely the same family. I do not have too much on the Dupres but I will look through all of my records and pictures. Andre and Rosalie's daughter Delina married my great grandfather Patrick Gallagher when she was only fifteen years old and they had 9 children: Rose born in Fall River in 1896, Patrick E (1999)and Edward & (1902) born in Providence Rhode Island, and then Leo W (1904), Joseph (1905), Andrew (1907)(my grandfather), Leah(1909) and John (1911) and Herbert (1915)all of whom were born in the Boston/Chelsea area. Patrick died in 1915 and Delina married John Thibeault of New Brunswick and the family lived on Crescent Ave in Chelsea, Ma. They had two more children: Gilbert born in 1916 and Amos born in 1917. I know that John did not live that long after their marriage: Delina died in 1966. I hope this helps -- I will ask my aunt for more info the next time I see her -- sh! e remembers them all well from when she was growing up and I know that my mother knew some of the "Dupre" boys as she called them. I will also ask about Cora -- I haven't heard that name - was she a daughter or daughter in law? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Yes it does sound like the same family. I found something that stated that Mary Rosalie's maiden name was Poirier. Does that match anything you have? I also have Angelina born as a Montville. Cora, the daughter of Euclid and Angelina was the great grandmother of my son in law. If you have any more information on the family going back in time I would appreciate it. I will share everything I have, just let me know your interests. Thanks again. Barry Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: sgray62 Surnames: Dupre, Gallagher Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.dupre/101.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I think this might be the same family: my great grandfather Patrick Gallagher married Delina Dupre (although she later used Dupree on her children's birth certificates) about 1895 in Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Andre and Mary Rosalie Dupre of Ste-Cesaire, Rouville Quebec. She had the following brothers: Euclid, Joseph, Regis, Prospere, Stanislas and Alfred. She also had at least two sisters Virginie and Angelina or Annie and Leah. Euclid was born in 1873. Delina was among the youngest in the family and she was born abt 1879 - Euclid and her other brothers ecept Alfred were older than her. The family was in the Worcester area, I think Gardner, for a time and spent some time in R.I. I think it is possible that Euclid did go to Washington. He was married to Angelina and they had a whole lot of children -- well by today's standards anyways. Hope this helps.
