Searching for MARIE THERESE` DUPRES, from the "Isle of Jersey" (JERSEY ISLAND) in the English Channel off the coast of Normandy, near France. She had four siblings, Marie Jeanne Dupres, Dominique DUPRETZ, Jacques Martin DUPRES, and Guillaume Francois DUPRET. Her parents were Marie Catherine DELAUNOIS and Jacques Martin Dupres. "Bapteme: parrain Jacques S. part marraine Marie Joseph DEBORGIE". Can anyone help me?
Dear Candice, The MARIE THERESA DUPRES, I am searching came from an island near France, referred to as the Isle of Jersey. There is a Jersey Island in the English Channel off the coast of Normandy, near France. Through Ancestry.com, I came across one MARIE THERESA DUPRES, but believe she may be older than the Marie I am looking for. Can you check this for me?: This MARIE had four siblings; Marie Jeanne Dupres Dominique Dupretz Jacques Martin Dupres Guillaume Francois Dupret Her parents were: Marie Catherine Delaunois Jacques Martin Dupres A note about her was included at the bottom of the page. I do not understand the meaning, but I'm sure you do. It is as follows: "Bapteme: parrain Jacques S> part marraine Marie Joseph Deborgie" What do you think?
I am sorry , I dont think my Marie is one and the same as yours, Maries maiden name was Cadeau, She was from Bulat Brittany France and came over in about 1912 from France to Chicago,They stayed there about a year as far as i can tell and then moved to Calgary Alberta where they died. She did die a Dupre however like i said her maiden name was Cadeau. Do you know which area your Dupres came from in France? I will try and assist all that i can if you let me know. Sorry about the marie though. Candice Allbee
Does anyone remember MARIE THERESA DUPRES? She gave birth to a daughter, Sadie Lackey, sometime around the year 1887, in Toronto, Canada. Marie Theresa DUPRES (Lackey) married a second time, but we do not know her married name. I have been told she died giving birth to a child by her second husband, and I am interested to know if I might have more family members. Her daughter, Sadie, was raised by a grandmother or aunt with the surname, Cooper. MARIE THERESA DUPRES, is believed to have immigrated to Canada from the JERSEY ISLAND ( Channel Island) in the English Channel off the coast of Normandy, near FRANCE. She was my paternal greatgrandmother.
Replying to the Dupres of France. I would like to know something about Marie Theresa Dupres, birthdate unknown but probably sometime during late 1850's or 1860's. It is believed she came from the Jersey Island (Channel Island) in the English Channel off the coast of Normandy, near France, and immigrated to Canada. She bore a daughter, Sadie Lackey, in Toronto, Canada, sometime around the year 1887. Anything you can tell me will be greatly appreciated. Sadie was raised by an aunt or grandmother "Cooper".

-- I am looking for GGrandparents. They used the name GRANT in America but it was not that name in Germany. I was told they immigrated from Hamburg, Germany in 1885 but under what name? I was told that the former name was something like Grabarski. But I knew them as Helen and William Oscar Grant. My grandmother was Ottilie Grant. I was told they came from Hamburg, Germany. Looking in the book, GERMANS TO AMERICA for similar names and times I found these names. Pauline Grabarski. age 25 Helene Grabarski age 10 mos. They sailed on the SS Rhein from Bremen, Germany 15, May, 1885. On www.familysearch.org I find the following: 1. Auguste Louise GRABARSKI - Gender: F Christening: 12 Aug 1855 Bromberg Stadt, Posen, Preussen 2. Carl Julius GRABARSKI - Gender: M Christening: 1 Aug 1858 Bromberg Stadt, Posen, Preussen 3. Ottilie Emma GRABARSKI - Gender: F Christening: 5 Jun 1845 Bromberg Stadt, Posen, Preussen Event(s): Christening: 5 Jun 1845 Bromberg Stadt, Posen, Preussen All these given names are used over and over in our family. The time is right and the place for all is the same. What I would like to know is, did any of the generation after the Ottilie Emma GRABARSKI have a son named Wilhelm Oscar GRABARSKI? Or is there a GRABARSKI living in this area today? Is this my GRANT family? Thank you for any reply.. Betty Haworth USA
