The earliest Depree that I have information on is John Dipprey, born c.1810 in Alsace-Lorraine. His wife was a Barbara (unknown). There were atleast 8 children in the family including a Milcher Dipprey, born c. 1830 and William Dipprey (Fredrick Wilhelm Dipprey) (later William Depree) born 1845 in Alsace-Lorraine and died 1905 in Pennsylvania. This information was gathered by another indiividual and I do not have supporting information. According to the 1900 US Census, William emigrated to the US in 1864. I've also been told by a family member that the name was origionally spelled DePre. Any help anyone can give me about this particular line or the name Depree in general is very much appreciated. I know that my grandfather was one of the youngest of 10 siblings:Josephine, Helena, Olivine, Ted(possibly Alfred Theodore?), Vincent, Dorothy, Margaret, Marsha,&Eunice. I know that my ggrandfather was married to Margaret Fagen, who was born in West Meath, Ireland. My grandfather Joseph was a marine engineer and died in 1969. There is also another Joseph M.DuPre, listed in the 1920 Census of Connecticut, and he is age 44, wife is Plupina age 39, and son Earl age 4. They lived in East Hartford. I am unsure of exactly how they are related to me, although it seems possible that he is Theopolis' brother. Please contact me if you have any more information; Was your grandfather's middle name Theodore or Ted? Where did he grow up?

I first find a record of him on the 1870 census of Morrow Twp., Adair Co., MO. as a 70 year old male whose place of birth is given as Virginia. His 63 year old wife's name was recorded on this census as REBECAA. Her POB was given as Noth Carolina. They had a 26 year old son named THOMAS DUPRE whose POB was given as Virginia, and he was recorded as living with them at this time. Living next door to them was a wdow named ELIZA JANE CLARK. She was the widow of PETER NIDA CLARK. He was killed during the Civil War. Eliza's maiden name was Eliza Jane DUPRE. I am assuming that since she was recorded on the 1870 census as living next door to TAZEWELL DUPRE after the death of her husband in 1864 that Tazewll Dupre and his wife Rebecca, were her parents. Can anyone verify this for me? P.S. Eliza Jane DUPRE and Peter Nida Clark were married in 1845 in Gallia County, Ohio if that helps any. However, I could find no record of TAZEWELL DUPRE on the 1850 census of same.
