I have just gotten back from a day long seminar on "Seeking Clues to your Scottish Ancestor" and found out I have been making a big mistake by trying to trace only my direct ancestors. Husband: John Dunsmore b. 12/881782 in Barony, Lanark, Scotland Wife: Jean Gray b. 1784 - married 12/17/1803 in Old Monkland, Lanark, Scotland Children as follows: John Dunsmore b. 12/30/1804 Old Monkland, Lanark, Scotland William Dunsmore b. 12/30/1804 (twin) (m. Janet Baird) Robert Dunsmore b. 1/25/1807 Old Monkland, Lanark, Scotland Janet Dunsmore b. 12/11/1808 Old Monkland, Lanark, Scotland (m. Robert Kelso) James Dunsmore b. 4/28/1811 Old Monkland, Lanark, Scotland John Dunsmore b. 5/6/1813 Old Monkland, Lanark, Scotland I believe the Janet Dunsmore/Robert Kelso line is still in Scotland The William Dunsmore/Janet Baird line came to USA about 1851 or so (my direct ancestors) Any help on this line would be greatly appreciated.
