    3. As you know, most virus messages are hoaxes - this one apparently is not. HAPPY99.EXE doesn't appear to very damaging, so there's no reason to panic, but I thought you'd want to know about it. My apologies if you've already gotten this message from another source. The following site: http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Heights/3652/SKA.HTM gives this information: "This virus is attached to newsgroup and e-mail messages as an attachment called Happy99.exe. You cannot get infected with this virus just by reading a newsgroup or e-mail message. You have to execute the attachment. Almost always, the person who sent it does not know that they are sending it out. It does not show up in their Outbox. If you didn't execute the attachment, you can just delete it and move on. If you execute an infected attachment, it will display a firework display." It's always best to be on the safe side. Having received HAPPY99.EXE from my aunt (who didn't realize what she was sending), I had run it - thought the fireworks display was neat. I've just followed the instructions for removal, given at the above-mentioned site, and everything seems to be OK. Have a great day, Gail Listowner
