    3. I am researching the Dinsmores in Donegal. Our particular ancestor was Adam Dinsmore (name also spelled Dinsmoor, Dunsmoor, etc.). His wife was Elizabeth (maiden name probably Jackson). The time period is 1740 to 1772 for Ireland. He is mentioned in an indenture between Arthur, Earl of Donegal and Robert Morrison. He and two others sublet parcels of land in Ballyederowen. The indenture is dated 15 Aug 1768. Adam and Elizabeth had at least 4 children in Ireland, Samuel, James, Elizabeth, and Martha. It is believed, due to a church letter attesting to his character, that Adam and family left Ireland abt 1772 for Colonial America. I have no information for this family until 1775; their son, David, was born in NC in 1775. Adam also signed an Oath of Allegiance in Frederick Co., MD. The first concrete information I have is for land records in NC and TN beginning in the 1780's. I would like to find Adam's father; his name may have been Samuel. Passenger lists seem to be lacking for this time period, but if anyone has ideas on how to go about locating them on a list, it would be appreciated. Some family rumors indicate they came into Philedelphia, PA. I would also like to know where this family was when it first came into the U.S. Samuel married Elizabeth Nichols King (family ties in PA and MD). James married Jean (Jane) McDonnell. Elizabeth married Archibald McDonnell, and Martha married Thomas Hughes. David married Sarah Hayes. Family was in NC, TN, KY, AL, VA. I am also seeking information on Fielding Fuller Dinsmore; he may be a son of my husband's gggggrandfather. Can anyone help? Will gladly share info. Kay Lou Dinsmore
