Hi, I'm Barbara Thacher. I am looking for the parents of Charles Densmore (Dinsmore) Wells. He was my great grandfather, b. Virginia ca. 1845. d. Chicago, IL 1910. He married Hannah Cuddy, (year unknown) probably in Chicago. He is reported to have served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He moved to Chicago after the war and became a successful butter and egg merchant. I have been looking for him on the Wells lists without success. I am hoping Densmore was a family name since it was passed down 2 generations.
