    2. I can trace my family to John Dunsmore (b. 1782) who married Jean Gray (b. 1784) but beyond that it gets very confusing as I don't know who their parents were. They were from Old Monkland, Lanark, Scotland. Any help that anyone can offer would be appreciated.

    3. I was searching through a web page, http://www.ebay.com. I found a marriage certificate for sale. This is the holy matrimony certificate celebrated between Oscar Dinsmore and Mary E. King of Birmingham, Conn on March 12, 1881. I have nothing to do with this page, just wanted to share the information. If you go to the ebay web page and search on Dinsmore, this piece will come up. Hope someone can use it. Lisa Cozzens Compaq Computer (formerly Digital Equipment Corporation) 550 King Street, LKG2-2/Z7 Littleton, MA 01460 978-506-7187

    3. Hi Barbara, I am Charles Lloyd Dinsmore, Jr. I live in Anniston, AL. I currently have about 1900 names in my family tree that I have been working on for a number of years. The only Wells in it is a Lucinda Wells who was born in 1820 in Indiana. She married Henry David Abercrombie on December 22, 1839 in Henry County, GA. Henry was a soldier in the CSA and Died in the war of smallpox in Murfreesboro, TN on December 13, 1863. His parents were J. William Abercrombie and Sarea Aracey Picard. They had two Children Mary Ann Abercrombie and Thomas Jefferson Abercrombie. I don't know if this information will be of help to you, but I will send it anyway. I have been on rootsweb.com several times, but have not seen a Dunsmoor mailing list. How do you join. 3. Hi, I'm Barbara Thacher. I am looking for the parents of Charles Densmore (Dinsmore) Wells. He was my great grandfather, b. Virginia ca. 1845. d. Chicago, IL 1910. He married Hannah Cuddy, (year unknown) probably in Chicago. He is reported to have served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He moved to Chicago after the war and became a successful butter and egg merchant. I have been looking for him on the Wells lists without success. I am hoping Densmore was a family name since it was passed down 2 generations.

    2. Ann Your Thomas is an enigma that was discussed earlier on the Dunsmoor home page. It seems he is not part of the Derry, NH gropup that is ther subject of Morrisons book. The arrived in 1719-20. Nor is he from the four brothers who arrived in 1727. He was here before both groups, and therefore there was no conclusion as to his origins. I've forwarded this to the rest of the participaants so you can restart the earlier discussion. David Poole

    3. Hi Nancy, My Densmore ancestors relocated from Bedford, MA > Hollis, NH > Temple, NH > the area of Rutland County in VT > North eastern NY. Almeda Melissa Densmore married Joshua Norman in Franklin Falls, NY in 1862. They relocated to Chippewa County in Minnesota, and Almeda's parents, Jane S. Duntley and William Densmore later joined them in MN as did some of Almeda's siblings. I would enjoy seeing a brief sketch of the names, dates and places in your Dissmore/Densmore tree. Messages are under 3 varietal spellings - Densmore, Dinsmore, Dunsmore - so here's the URL for the "D" surnames http://www.genforum.com/surnames/d.html Have fun! Gail

    2. J & KL Dinsmore
    3. I am researching the Dinsmores in Donegal. Our particular ancestor was Adam Dinsmore (name also spelled Dinsmoor, Dunsmoor, etc.). His wife was Elizabeth (maiden name probably Jackson). The time period is 1740 to 1772 for Ireland. He is mentioned in an indenture between Arthur, Earl of Donegal and Robert Morrison. He and two others sublet parcels of land in Ballyederowen. The indenture is dated 15 Aug 1768. Adam and Elizabeth had at least 4 children in Ireland, Samuel, James, Elizabeth, and Martha. It is believed, due to a church letter attesting to his character, that Adam and family left Ireland abt 1772 for Colonial America. I have no information for this family until 1775; their son, David, was born in NC in 1775. Adam also signed an Oath of Allegiance in Frederick Co., MD. The first concrete information I have is for land records in NC and TN beginning in the 1780's. I would like to find Adam's father; his name may have been Samuel. Passenger lists seem to be lacking for this time period, but if anyone has ideas on how to go about locating them on a list, it would be appreciated. Some family rumors indicate they came into Philedelphia, PA. I would also like to know where this family was when it first came into the U.S. Samuel married Elizabeth Nichols King (family ties in PA and MD). James married Jean (Jane) McDonnell. Elizabeth married Archibald McDonnell, and Martha married Thomas Hughes. David married Sarah Hayes. Family was in NC, TN, KY, AL, VA. I am also seeking information on Fielding Fuller Dinsmore; he may be a son of my husband's gggggrandfather. Can anyone help? Will gladly share info. Kay Lou Dinsmore

    3. Hi, I subscribed to the list to see if I could find some one who would be interested in a book I found at a library used book sale. The book is: The Man From Maine Charles DINSMORE An Oral History. The book is Volume 1 from the archives of Skagit County oral history association. It is 72 pages long. (note that Skagit County is in Washington State) The book starts out- "I was born in Millbridge, Maine, October 26, 1876. Charles Dinsmore. I was named after the doctor that brought me into the world." I do not want any money for the book. I would just like to pass it onto some one who is related and would enjoy having it as an addition to their research. Jody Fisher [email protected]

    3. Ken and list, Just subscribed to the list and was going to post a messge asking if anyone knew of Mary DINSMORE, who married David CURRIER. And the attached message was there. Thank you, now I know her line! A bit of it anyway. I am ggggranddaughter. Does anyone know anything else about her? Prior to this I had only her name. I can give line from David/Mary Currier to me if anyone needs that. I had previously guessed that she was part of the group who had settled Londonderry for freedom to practice their faith. Is this now a void thought? Or was it a latter generation that makes your title "Dinsmores of Maine"? Any clues as to family occupations? What does the Dea. in front of David Currier mean? Would appreciate any insights, info that anyone can share. Thank you, Julia Fountain, South Dakota, USA (is this a world list or are all the Dinsmores now USA?) 3. Adam Dinsmore There have been several inquiries regarding an Adam Dinsmore lately, I have been asked about him before so obviously he has a large family in the South. If he was in the south he probably came to America through Charleston NC or Newark Delaware. Most of the New England Boston arrivals continued to go west and settled Michigan, Wisconsin although there were many exceptions. The only Adam Dinsmore I have on my records is John Dinsmores of Ballywattick brother Adam. I include his records for whatever benefit they may be, I did notice a reference to Millers Crossing through one of his son's and someone had mentioned that location for Adam. John also had two brothers Robert and Samuel. Happy Hunting Adam Dinsmoor b. Ballywattick, 1675, remained in Ireland, 3 known children. ““ 1. James b. Ballywattick 26 April 1741 d. Pa. in 1817 “ 2. Andrew b. Ballywattick 1753, settled York C. Pa. April 1829 3. Robert b.~1695 settled in Millers Creek, Pa. then Kentucky, disappeared
