The LDS has finally put its searchable web site online - at least temporarily. This is a test site which will be up until March 28, when they will take it down for refinement. Only problem is that when I've tried to use it, everyone else is, too, so I keep getting "server too busy" message. Anyway, if you're a night owl, maybe you can get on in the wee small hours of the morning! It looks very promising! See http://eval.familysearch.com/Browse/browse.asp for more info. Gail
Has anyone been able to sort out all the Dunsmores in Old Monkland, Scotland? I understand that they are descended from brothers: Robert Dunsmore who married Janet Provand in 1702 --- and John Dunsmore who married Christian Donald in 1710. I have been able to take my Dunsmores back to John Dunsmore b. 1782 who married Jean Gray b. 1784 --- but can go no further back. Any suggestions from out there? Thanks, Jan in Lake Forest, California, USA
Hello there My name is FRANK DUNSMORE CROFT. I inherited the name from my uncle who died at the age of 16 in 1923. The name was passed on from his grand mother ADA DUNSMORE who was born in Harby Leics. I have traced quite a few DUNSMORES in Harby. Is anyone researching this part of UK? 3/13/99 Grace H. Ingersoll, M.Div. grace @eskimo.com Hi -- In my Ingersoll line, my paternal grandmother was the daughter of Alice Dunsmore, who was the child of Joseph Pollack Dunsmore and Margaret Antoinette Ward. I'm sorry, I have no dates, or locations, but I do know that this is USA! Allowing roughly 25 years per generation, my grandmother was born in 1886, her mother in maybe 1860 or so, so her parents: roughly 1835 or so? Granny's favorite uncle was the American painter, John Ward Dunsmore. I remember my grandmother (who was a published amateur genealogist in her own right) telling me years ago that she (an insufferable snob!) had, as a girl, teased her grandmother that with a name like Antoinette Ward, she was probably Irish. Which Great-grandmother huffily denied each time. However, Granny said that years later, she hunted down and found an obituary in the New York Times (I don't have it) for a John Ward who was Margaret Antoinette's father, and was, in fact, from County Cork. I'm interested in pursuing the Dunsmore line back from Joseph Pollack Dunsmore, and would love to have more info, if anyone has it. Also, does anyone have the John Ward info? Thanks for any help you can give. Grace H. Ingersoll
Karen, I have more information on this line of the family, i noticed my brother David has transferred to a readily transferable file and you might want to get it from him, if you want the long text version, more a family history with a mix of history speculation and intuition I would be glad to work with you, but it close to one pages, if your system is up to it I can transfer it all to you at once or in sections. Keep in touch, I will be out of town next week but will be back Thursday. Cheers Ken
Hi David, I have very little info, but I'd be very willing to share anything that I have or am able to find. Thanks, Karen

She was married to Aaron tilton in W.Boylston,Ma. and she died there in1830 about 16 days after giving birth to my gr gr grandmother, Mary Dinsmore Tilton. Nancy, I'm sorry to say at this time I have no info for you. The Sarah I was Looking for married a Webb and moved to Hawkins Co., TN. I was trying to find a connection for my GG Grandfather John Wesley Dinsmore who married Caroline Yonas? The last place we located them to was Hawkins Co. We have yet to find the parents to either. I will keep a lookout for your names and if I run across something I will write. I am trying to trace my ancestor JAMES DINSMORE who was born in Ireland circa 1750/1754. His wife was named MARY and they are known to have had at least four children - THOMAS, SAMUEL, REBECCA and JUDITH. James died in Amhurst Co., VA before 1789 when son, Thomas, married. Mary was still living as she signed for Thomas to marry. Samuel, who married in 1799, signed when his two sisters married. Has anybody heard of this family?
Am trying to find out any information about Sarah Dinsmore Wilson, daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Dinsmore. They probably lived in the Fairchance, Smithfield area of PA in Fayette County. Sarah Dinsmore Wilson became the second wife of my gggrandfather, Ephraim Joe Price, who was an ordained Baptist minister. Sarah and Ephraim then had two children, Florda and Nettie Price. Their children were born in 1894 and 1896 Hopefully, Nancy Price Camarigg [email protected]
As you know, most virus messages are hoaxes - this one apparently is not. HAPPY99.EXE doesn't appear to very damaging, so there's no reason to panic, but I thought you'd want to know about it. My apologies if you've already gotten this message from another source. The following site: http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Heights/3652/SKA.HTM gives this information: "This virus is attached to newsgroup and e-mail messages as an attachment called Happy99.exe. You cannot get infected with this virus just by reading a newsgroup or e-mail message. You have to execute the attachment. Almost always, the person who sent it does not know that they are sending it out. It does not show up in their Outbox. If you didn't execute the attachment, you can just delete it and move on. If you execute an infected attachment, it will display a firework display." It's always best to be on the safe side. Having received HAPPY99.EXE from my aunt (who didn't realize what she was sending), I had run it - thought the fireworks display was neat. I've just followed the instructions for removal, given at the above-mentioned site, and everything seems to be OK. Have a great day, Gail Listowner
