I have an ancestor, John Dunphy born June 1816 on a farm near St John who was in the logging/lumber industry working along the Miramichi River and moving down into Gardiner,Maine after the big forest fire in NB. There is a news paper record of an Andrew Dunphy killed while logging in Maine whose body was returned to the Dunphy Cemetery at Blackville,NB by a nephew working at the same camp. Also a Dunphy? Report on Survey of Reserve Lands on South West Miramichi River by George Moorehouse-Deputy Surveyor done May-June 1818: "Thomas Dunphy-lived for 16 years on #4-Northwest side Miramichi River-joining on reserve line (5 miles above first first bounds). One acre of cleared land on which he has 1 frame house and 1 frame barn. Title was given by Edward Winslow Esq." What info do you have on either branch, or a connection?
