    3. Sorry , but can’t help. ‘My’ Dunphys as far as I know ended up in Australia. They were from Queen’s Co near Rathdowney and came to Aust back in the 1850s. 3. Not aware of any of 'my’ Dunphys in Canada. They came to Australia from Ireland in 1850 and remainder in 1853. Parents were John and Catherine and prior to migrating to Aust they lived in Co Laois on Coolkerry town land which is very close to Rathdowney. I haven’t been able to find any brothers or sisters for John, but its likely that he did and maybe they migrated to Canada or US. 3. “My’ Dunphys came from Coolkerry, Queens Co, Ireland. They migrated to Australia during period 1850 to 1853. The parents names were John (snr) and Catherine (nee Wallis). One of their children was Joseph who was about 20 at the time. Joseph was the father of John Dunphy. I have long suspected that John(snr) had siblings and that quite likely some emigrated to US. Have never been able to confirm this. Author: pbrewer196 Surnames: Dunphy, Green, Mitchell, Weaver, Arbo, Foster Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.dunphy/395.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have found that some information passed down through families may not be completely accurate so I am sharing what I have learned about some New Brunswick Dunphys who went to Maine. Andrew Dunphy, b. 18 Sept 1808 in New Brunswick, d. 03 Feb 1879 in Dover Foxcroft, Piscataquis, Maine. On July 23, 1835 he married Jane E. Green in Northumberland Co., NB. She was the daughter of Andrew and Sarah (Mitchell) Green. Two of her sisters married two of Andrew's brothers. Jane (Green) Dunphy, b. abt 1813 in Northumberland Co., NB, died 19 May 1900 in Dover Foxcroft. I believe that Andrew is the son of Thomas and Elizabeth (unknown) Dunphy of Northumberland Co., NB. A second Andrew Dunphy, b. 1820 in Douglas, York Co., New Brunswick, d. 02 Nov 1893 in Foxcroft, Piscataquis, Maine. He married Sarah G.Weaver, b. 27 Feb 1833 in Blackville, Northumberland Co., NB. She died 31 Dec 1918 in Foxcroft, Maine. Her death cert. states that her name was Sarah Arbo Dunphy and lists her father's name as "Weaver". It appears she was previously married to an Arbo. Andrew's death cert. states that his parents were Jacob Dunphy and Eliza Foster, both born in New Brunswick. Does anyone have any information on Jacob and Eliza (Foster) Dunphy? I am trying to sort out my Miramichi and Maine Dunphy cousins and would appreciate any help you can give. Paul Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: nynanyna Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.dunphy/442/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am searching for information of my above mentioned great grandmother. I believe she was born in St. John NB (1886-1966) Her parents were Hugh and Margaret Gillis who were both born and died on PEI. I know that CVD married Charles Gallagher in Boston on 25 October 1908. Shortly thereafter, the young couple moved to Chicago with their newborn son, Edward. I have many records of CVD travelling to and from PEI to the US for employment. She never seems to have traveled with her son or husband. I have no record of Edward until adulthood and Charles seems to have disappeared. I would be most grateful if any of you clever people could share any information about the above mentioned relatives of mine. I will gladly return the favor! best, L.
