Martha Dunn was born about 1812 in Irelannd, county unknown. About 1830, she married Joshua Delany. Martha was almost certainly protestant, probably Church of Ireland. Does anyone have an Irish Dunn family in the early 19th century? Joseph R. Yes. My Dunn ancestor, Hugh Dunn, was born in 1815 in Ireland--don't know which county. He emigrated to Glasgow, SCT, where as a widower he married again in 1865. He was Catholic, though. I found him and his new family in the 1871 Census but neither he nor his wife are to be found in 1881. I found their children, my great-grandfather and his brothers, as little boys in the 1881 Census living with their stepfather's second wife. Sad life, sounds like.
