    3. I was interested in Abijah Dunn and Nancy Clements 1850 Gallatin, Kentucky census information and so got the film of the census through my local Family History Center. I saw that Abijah was 52 and a laborer; Nancy his wife was 41; Roannah their daughter was 22 (I have seen her name spelled Rheuma in other places; George M. their son was listed as 18 and a laborer; Isaac J. their son was listed as 14; Lucinda their daughter was listed as 10; and Hezekiah, my Great-grandfather was listed as 4 years old. >From 22 years of age for Roannah to 4 years of age as listed for my Great-grandfather Hezekiah is quite a reach. I see quite a range of ages in these children. Initially, I thought perhaps there might have been a second wife; however, Nancy's name is listed as the mother, and in some lists I have seen compiled by other researchers, these researchers seem to indicate that Nancy was the mother of them all. I did notice that there were some of Hezekiah and Nancy's children itemized in other researcher's lists that were not mentioned in this census: Mary born 1825, Nancy born 1830, and Charles W. born 1855. I looked for Abijah in later censuses and could not find him. I noticed a 1860 census in the AIS and looked for Abijah but could not see him listed there--Abijah is such an uncommon name that I usually pick him out right away.. If he died before 1860, that would have made my Great-grandfather Hezekiah a very small child when he lost his father. My next consideration, of course, would be questioning the possibility that Hezekiah might be fatherless by 1860; if that were the case, then who were the persons who raised him?. I did find Abijah in the 1840 Gallatin Kentucky census and also found him in the 1830 Clermont, Ohio census. I'll probably order those two census, although, I realize that I may not be able to learn much. Perhaps there were personal property tax lists available that could give me some information. Some months ago, I helped transcribe some of the pages for the 1800 Property Tax List of Fauquier County Virginia, and was surprised at how much information the list actually contains. Phyllis
