I have more info on George's family: parents, siblings, 6 gen of ancestors Let me hear from you! laurie 1] Dun-Graham Genealogy, by Ann Holman (Dun) Boone, 1979, pp 3, 13: "George William Dun, born February 3, 1786... "This record shows the first six children born at Kilsyth, and the last five, starting June 25, 1794, at Glasgow." !2] Ibid., pg 15: "Geo. William Dun, the third brother, came over in 1818 (or earlier) and with the assistance of the uncle, John Graham, set himself up in business in Philadelphia as an importer of goods from Scotland. It appears he had made his fortune by the time he moved to Chillicothe, and this was probably before Walter died in 1838, as he was named one of the executors. He is listed in the Philadelphia city directories for the years 1819 to 1837, most of the time as `Geo. W. Dun & Co.' and part of the time with a carpet store at one address and importing business at another nearby address. The directories do not disclose the identity of the `Co.,' and this style was not not used until after John Graham's death in 1820. In the 1840's he had a town home at 94 So. Point Street, Chillicothe, a 2 story stone, still used (1955) as a residence, and giving evidence of wealth for the mid-1800 period. Later he built `Oak HIll' a country estate west on what is now Route 50, and finally another large country home on the western edge of Chillicothe which still stands and is known as `Dun Glen'; remained in the Dun family 60 or 70 years; for about 25 years has been used as a tea room, party house, racquet club and more recently, as a tourist home." ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dwain W.
