Hi Larry, I am just curious how your Dunns arrived in California? I had a great granduncle Johnny Dunn from Anoka, MN. He had a son Lawrence aka Larry who I think might have worked in Vaudeville for a time. Anyway, a bunch of Uncle Johnny's descendants ended up in California. Uncle Johnny was b. Aug. 24, 1863 in Hamilton Twp., Lee County, Illinois just north of the village of Ohio, Illinois which is located in Bureau County. His parents were Michael T. Dunn and Mary Ann Downey. He married Mary Mellet who was from Co. Mayo, Ireland in St. Paul, MN on May 1, 1888. He had 9 children with her. Nellie, John, Loretta, Marguerite, Edward, Lawrence Arthur, Genevieve, Raymond and Beatrice. I remember a Jack Dunn from out that way who was in WWI. He was taken captive by the Russians and marched to Siberia. But by the time he got there he had become such good friends with the soldiers that they all left Russia and came to the States together. I believe his real name was John Dunn and everyone just called him Jack. My uncle Joe Dunn who lived with my family as a child would tell stories about this man. He sent uncle Joe a postcard from Hawaii once but he lived in CA. The postcard would have come sometime between 1965 and 1972. Good luck. Carole Dunn Vaughn Illinois
